Accessibility Statement – Safryat

Effective Date: 08 / 06 / 2025

Safryat is committed to providing a mobile‑app experience that is inclusive and accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability, technology, or environment. This statement outlines the accessibility standards we follow, the measures we have taken, and how you can give feedback or request assistance.

1. Scope

This statement applies to the Safryat iOS and Android applications, as well as our public website safryat‑sham.com and in‑app webviews (collectively, “the Services”).

2. Standards & Guidelines

Safryat aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA and to follow best practices found in:

  • EN 301 549 (EU accessibility requirements for ICT products and services)

  • Apple Human Interface Guidelines & Google Material Design Accessibility recommendations

  • Jordanian Law No. 20 of 2017 on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

3. Key Accessibility Features

  • Screen‑reader support – All navigation elements, buttons, and form fields include descriptive labels for VoiceOver and TalkBack.

  • Dynamic text & font scaling – The app respects Android/iOS system font‑size settings and supports pinch‑to‑zoom on maps.

  • High‑contrast & Dark Mode – Color combinations provide a minimum 4.5:1 contrast ratio, with automatic switching to Dark Mode when enabled at system level.

  • Keyboard & switch control – Primary actions are reachable via external keyboards, switches, and assistive touch devices.

  • Right‑to‑Left (RTL) layouts – Arabic text is fully supported with mirrored icons and RTL flow.

  • Captions & transcripts – Video or audio tutorials published by Safryat include captions and downloadable transcripts.

  • Haptic & audio cues – Ride status changes (driver assigned, arrival, trip start) trigger vibration patterns and spoken alerts.

  • Accessible map interactions – Map markers announce POIs; alternative text trip summaries are provided for screen‑reader users.

  • Error prevention – Inline validation, descriptive error messages, and confirmation dialogs reduce user mistakes.

4. Compatibility

The Services are compatible with:

  • iOS 14 or later (including VoiceOver, Switch Control, and AssistiveTouch)

  • Android 9 Pie or later (including TalkBack and Switch Access)

  • Latest versions of Chrome, Safari, Edge, and Firefox with assistive technologies such as NVDA and JAWS

5. Ongoing Improvements

Accessibility is an ongoing process. Safryat performs:

  • Quarterly audits using automated tools (e.g., Axe, Google Lighthouse) and manual screen‑reader testing.

  • User testing with participants representing diverse disabilities (visual, motor, cognitive).

  • Developer training in accessible coding practices and WCAG updates.

6. Third‑Party Content

The app integrates third‑party maps, payment gateways, and analytics SDKs. While we strive to partner with vendors that uphold accessibility standards, some third‑party functionality may not yet fully conform. We actively collaborate with these vendors to improve accessibility.

7. Feedback & Support

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, need information in an alternative format, or wish to suggest enhancements, please contact us:

8. Escalation Procedure

If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may escalate to the Jordanian Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCD) or an equivalent
national body in your jurisdiction.

9. Statement Updates

We review and update this Accessibility Statement at least annually or whenever significant changes are made to the Services. The latest version will always be available in‑app under Legal → Accessibility and on our website.

Safryat believes accessible design benefits everyone. Thank you for helping us create a more inclusive ride‑hailing experience for all.
